Araluen community reference group
The Araluen Cultural Precinct was established in May 2011, as proposed in the Araluen Cultural Precinct Development Plan 2010-2015.

As per the Terms of Reference, the Community Reference Group advises the Minister for Arts and Museums, via the Department of Arts and Museums, about the ongoing development and strategic operation of the Araluen Cultural Precinct by:
- creating a dialogue between the precinct’s management and the community
- providing an avenue for community input and feedback
- assisting with the implementation of the Araluen Cultural Precinct Development Plan 2010-2015.
The Community Reference Group has six community representatives who are generally appointed for a two year term.
The group has two specific positions that represent the following bodies and which are nominated by those bodies:
- The Alice Springs Town Council
- The Friends of Araluen.
Group meetings are held up to four times a year.
