Celebrating the written word – winners of the 2015 NT Literary Awards

Seven talented local writers have been named category winners of the 2015 NT Literary Awards.

In their 31st year, the Awards have again produced a range of interesting, provocative and well-written works from poetry and essays to travel writing and theatre scripts.

Valuable collection from former Lord Mayor

A unique look at life in Darwin from 1961 to 1989 has been unveiled at the Northern Territory Library.

The Dr Ella Stack Collection has been generously donated by the former Lord Mayor and is the complete collection of her personal papers and research materials from nearly three decades of professional and community life in Darwin.

The 2015 NT Literary Awards' finalists have been revealed.

Ranging across seven categories including poetry, essays, short stories and travel writing as well as theatre scripts and a youth award, the Awards provide a valuable platform for emerging Territory writers to gain public recognition.

Radar Gunner wins NT History Book Award

A biography about a Royal Australian Air Force member's time flying over enemy Japanese territory during World War II has been selected as the winning title for the Chief Minister's Northern Territory History Book Award 2015.

"I'm pleased to congratulate the late Dick Dakeyne whose book Radar Gunner has been selected as this year's winner of the Chief Minister's Northern Territory History Book Award," Chief Minister Adam Giles said.

NT History Book Awards shortlist announced

Books about Cyclone Tracy, World War 2 and commemorative plaques at Charles Darwin University have been announced as the shortlisted candidates for the Chief Minister's Northern Territory History Book Awards for 2015.

"The 2015 Chief Minister's Northern Territory History Book Award recognises the most significant historical book in the Northern Territory, published throughout 2014," Chief Minister Adam Giles said.
