Experience the beauty of Wildflower Season at the Alice Springs Desert Park
Wildlife season has arrived in the Red Centre and the spectacle is in full bloom at the Alice Springs Desert Park.
"There's nothing quite like landscapes full of flowers. Each year the Alice Springs Desert Park mirrors these displays of wildflowers by planting a range of natives from seeds gathered the previous year and the Park is now a field of yellows, pinks and purples,” said ASDP Director Paul Ah Chee ‘Ngala’.
The flowers peak during late winter and early spring just in time for the tourist season and the Park is hosting guided walks about the display.
“This time of year is a perfect opportunity for our Senior Botany Staff to showcase the Parks displays on small informative guided walks. Learn about the different wildflowers found across Central Australia and even gain some inside tips for your own garden,” added Mr Ah Chee ‘Ngala’.
Finish the morning with a cuppa and cake with a chance to ask questions about wildflowers questions.
The wildflower walks will be held from 10am-11.30am on Sunday the 3rd and 10th of September. Cost is $42 per person or $10 for Territorian Pass holders, bookings essential.
