Putting on Big Local Events - Tickets on sale for Big Bash
16 December 2017
Territory cricket fans will get their chance to be a part of the Big Bash League action with tickets now on sale for the first ever Alice Springs game.
The Adelaide Strikers will take on the Perth Scorchers at Traeger Park on Saturday 13 January in a double-header that will also feature the Rebel Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL).
Minister for Tourism and Culture, Lauren Moss, said the Big Bash League is hugely popular with sports fans around Australia, and Territorians are expected to flock to the game in droves.
“We know that Territorians want to experience these types of events at home – it helps make the NT a great place to live and keeps people here,” she said.
“You can’t beat the thrilling excitement of the Big Bash and we expect it will bring interstate visitors to town.
“With amazing cricket and revved up crowds it’s no wonder the Big Bash sells out stadiums around Australia.
“We can’t wait to host the Big Bash for the first time in the Northern Territory right in the heart of Australia, Alice Springs, and show the rest of the world what we have to offer.
“I urge Territorians to get in quick and secure their tickets for this historic clash between the Adelaide Strikers and the Perth Scorchers.”
Tickets went on sale online through Ticketek at 10am today. Prices start at $20 for adults and $5 for children.
