Stay out of pipes and drains
The Northern Territory’s Top End has an average monthly rainfall of 240mm in the Wet Season, causing our rivers and waterways to become fast-flowing torrents.
In urban areas, pipes and drains transport the overflow of water through our streets, causing an inviting but potentially deadly watercourse.
The NT Government’s Stay out of Pipes and Drains advertising campaign is a stark reminder of just how life-threatening those urban torrents can be.
The campaign will run for the duration of the Wet Season in partnership with the Royal Life Saving Society of the NT.
So this Wet Season #staysafeintheWET and stay out of pipes and drains.
