Work Experience

The Department of Sport and Recreation provides work experience opportunities to secondary school students interested in a future career working in the sport and active recreation industry.

Students can observe and participate in a range of activities across key areas including Events, the Northern Territory Institute of Sport (NTIS), Sport Programs, Regional and Club Development, and Venues and Business Services.

To assist the Department in allocating placements and ensuring appropriate learning experiences can be well planned in advance, the Department requires students to submit the work experience application form a minimum of six weeks prior to the requested work experience date.

Please note, a limited number of work experience opportunities within the Department are available in Alice Springs and Darwin.

To nominate for a work experience placement within the Department, download the application form (77.9 kb), complete and submit with other relevant documentation to WorkExperience.DSRR@nt.gov.au

A Department staff member will advise successful/unsuccessful students and the school contact, as far in advance as possible of the requested work experience date.
